WaterEquity is seeking an Associate on the Risk and Portfolio Management Team to provide portfolio monitoring and analytical support. The role will work closely with the global investment team to manage and analyze financial, operational, and impact data for WaterEquity’s investments. These investments consist of lending to financial institutions that on-lend to households and enterprises for water and sanitation. WaterEquity also recently launched a new investment strategy focused on equity investments in water and sanitation projects and companies. The Associate would support across both strategies, with a primary focus on the financial institution lending portfolio. The Associate, Risk and Portfolio Management will report to the Principal, Risk and Portfolio Management. . Load reported financial and impact data into portfolio management software and update quarterly credit scores. . Track investee reporting requirements, including covenant compliance certificates, to ensure compliance with investment agreements . . Track, manage and analyze country and currency risk data for countries where we have investments or are considering making investments . . . Analyze financial, operational, and impact data from investees to identify risks and understand trends . . Help maintain and build out risk and portfolio management tools used across the investment management team. . Help maintain and develop risk and portfolio management dashboards in Power BI. . Build data validation automation to catch data integrity issues . . Manage and maintain datasets and perform data validation/quality assurance analysis for datasets within and across a variety of platforms, including iLEVEL and Salesforce. . Serve as a Salesforce power user for the Investment Management team, including creating new fields, editing page layouts, managing data quality, creating reports, etc. . . Collaborate across departments to understand their data requirements, create tools to improve the business workflow, and improve data analytics. . . Skills and Qualifications . . Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, Accounting, or a related field. . . 3+ years of relevant work experience in financial statement analysis, risk analysis, investment / portfolio management, financial data management, or a related area. . . Experience analyzing or monitoring debt and/or equity investments in emerging markets. . Advanced Excel skills and an analytical, problem-solving mindset . . Ability to manage financial data plus identify, troubleshoot, and resolve data issues. . Aptitude for learning new systems and process improvement . . Ability to work independently and collaboratively with team members . . Interest in and knowledge of impact investment and/or emerging markets. . Effective interpersonal and communication skills and experience in a remote working environment. . Critical thinker with strong organizational skills and attention to detail . .
