Staff Accountant. to own our core accounting functions with a strong focus on commissions. This is a hands-on, detail-driven role that’s critical to keeping our financial operations accurate and organized. We’re looking for someone who can execute the fundamentals flawlessly today, with the potential to grow into a more strategic contributor over time.. In the short term, you’ll be responsible for maintaining clean, reconciled books in QuickBooks, managing commission payments and receivables, and ensuring we always have a clear picture of our P&L. Long term, the right hire could expand into budgeting, cash flow forecasting, KPI dashboard development, and full end-to-end P&L ownership — potentially evolving into a Controller-level role.. Key Responsibilities (Immediate Focus). . Match commissions to payments and perform bank reconciliations. . Create internal reports on outstanding commissions (accounts receivable tracking). . Chase down unpaid commissions from vendors (AR collections). . Maintain and update the P&L in QuickBooks, ensuring accurate transaction categorization. . Assist with month-end close (basic accruals, reconciliations). . Maintain organized records and documentation for audit-readiness. . Build SOPs, create and refine processes, and help manage accounting-related email workflows. . What This Role Could Grow Into. . Own end-to-end P&L reporting and analysis. . Develop and maintain cash flow forecasts (e.g., 13-week rolling). . Support budgeting and track actuals vs. budget. . Build internal KPI dashboards for leadership. . Handle expense analysis and cost optimization reporting. . Liaise with external accountants and audit firms during year-end processes. . Own vendor and contractor payment processes (AP). . Oversee internal controls and implement process improvements. . Support financial scenario modeling and decision-making. . Potentially grow into a Controller-level position or partner closely with FP&A. . . Bachelor's degree (or higher) is required.. . 1–3 years of accounting experience, ideally with QuickBooks Online. . . Strong understanding of the three main financial statements (Income Statement, Statement of Cash Flows, Balance Sheet). . Familiarity with payment processing systems and banking interfaces. . Ability to work independently in a remote setting. . Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail. . Experience with commissions, accounts receivable, or KPI reporting is a plus. .
