Property Accountant (Short-Term Rentals) at Remote VA. We are in need of an experienced . Property Accountant. with a strong background in managing financial operations for . short-term rental properties. . The ideal candidate will be responsible for full-cycle accounting, financial reporting, and ensuring compliance across multiple platforms such as Airbnb, Vrbo, and other vacation rental channels.. Key Responsibilities:. . Manage daily accounting operations for multiple short-term rental properties. . . Reconcile bank accounts, merchant accounts, and booking platform payouts. . . Track income, occupancy taxes, fees, and commissions from various rental platforms. . . Prepare monthly financial statements and cash flow reports. . . Coordinate with property managers or hosts regarding budget adherence and expense tracking. . . Manage accounts payable/receivable and ensure timely payments to vendors. . . Maintain accurate records for audits and tax filings, including transient occupancy tax (TOT) or similar. . . Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning specific to seasonal rental cycles. . . Use accounting and property management software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero, Guesty, Hostaway, etc.).. . Qualifications:. Accounting experience, with at least 1 year in short-term rental or hospitality industry. . . Proficient in accounting software and Excel; experience with short-term rental tools is a plus. . . Strong analytical skills and attention to detail. . .
