We’re looking for a knowledgeable, proactive individual to provide expert advice, technical support, and practical solutions across our site-based technology services and solutions.. As a Site Technology Specialist, you’ll work closely with our Product Development team, Sales and Service colleagues, and our customers to implement, support, and optimise digital solutions. You’ll help customers reduce their Total Cost of Ownership through training, consultancy, and the application of technologies such as VCE Site Simulation, Co-pilot HMI platforms, and machine control systems.. What you’ll be doing:. Acting as a technical expert for site-based technology, supporting both SMT colleagues and customers.. Carrying out site visits to install, configure, and troubleshoot machine control and digital solutions.. Providing clear, detailed reports on site assessments, technical findings, and opportunities for optimisation.. Collaborating with Product Development, Sales, and Service teams to identify training needs and deliver targeted technical support.. Delivering engaging, hands-on training — both virtually and on-site — to ensure customers and colleagues can fully utilise SMT technologies.. Supporting the development of structured training materials and documentation for SMT digital solutions.. Providing technical insight to Sales Support and Product Development, assisting with product trials, upgrades, and feedback on new technologies.. Maintaining strong relationships with customers and internal stakeholders through regular updates and proactive communication.. Upholding SMT GB’s high standards of safety, quality, and environmental responsibility at all times.. What you’ll bring:. Strong knowledge of site-based technology platforms and machine control solutions.. Experience with installation, fault-finding, and troubleshooting of machine control systems and related equipment.. Knowledge of land survey tools, GNSS systems, or other digital measurement equipment.. Excellent communication and presentation skills, with confidence in delivering technical training.. A systematic, organised approach to problem-solving and workload management.. Ability to collaborate effectively across departments and build long-term customer relationships.. Commercial awareness and understanding of aftermarket services and customer needs.. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and willingness to embrace new digital systems and tools.. Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel within the UK and Europe.. Desirable:. Experience operating drones or manipulating digital site models.. Formal engineering qualification or GVC multirotor certification.. Experience delivering technical or customer-focused training.. Knowledge of construction industry workflows and site operations..
