We are seeking a talented Editor to lead the editing and feature writing for Better Report. This commerce-focused editorial role is responsible for curating, reviewing, and contextualizing the best products and services across home, health, and wealth.. As Editor, you’ll commission and edit stories, write features, oversee the production pipeline, expand our roster of subject matter experts, and use performance data to guide editorial strategy. This role requires an editor who thrives in a fast-paced environment and can balance storytelling, product expertise, and audience engagement.. Accountabilities. Uphold Britannica’s high editorial standards, ensuring every piece is clear, accurate, engaging, and trustworthy.. Build and manage a monthly editorial calendar. Lead coverage of major shopping and cultural moments, including Black Friday, Cyber Monday, Prime Day, and other seasonal events.. Edit the work of others and write your own original articles.. Prepare content for publication, build articles in the CMS (WordPress preferred), and ensure proper formatting.. Build your brand’s emails, curating the content you publish on the site. Partner with the Campaign team to schedule sends to subscribers via Airtable.. Leverage dashboards and metrics (open rate, CTR, engagement) to refine editorial strategy.. Collaborate with and expand a roster of freelance writers with subject matter expertise.. Contribute to editorial meetings, pitch new coverage, and work closely with Account Manager, Performance, Affiliate, and Commerce teams to set revenue goals and track brand performance.. Represent Better Report and Britannica at relevant events and press opportunities.. Qualifications. 6+ years of editorial experience at a digital media company in commerce, lifestyle, or product journalism.. Strong working knowledge of the home, health, and wealth categories.. Familiarity with newsletters and email marketing.. Exceptional copy-editing and line-editing skills, with meticulous attention to detail.. Ability to analyze and interpret performance data to guide editorial decisions.. Demonstrated success in writing and editing product-focused service journalism.. Familiarity with CMS tools (WordPress and Airtable preferred) and newsletter workflows.. Keen awareness of email as a content delivery mechanism and the strategies that drive engagement.. Established network of PR partners to support product sourcing, trend awareness, and expert outreach.. Established network of freelance contributors to commission and expand subject matter expertise..
