We are seeking an experienced and visionary VP of Engineering to lead the design, development, and scaling of a cutting-edge cloud-native data platform. In this role, you will oversee engineering strategy, architecture, and operations, ensuring the platform delivers secure, high-performance solutions for complex, large-scale data workflows. You will guide and grow a high-performing engineering team, champion best practices, and collaborate across product, compliance, and customer teams to drive impact. This is a leadership role at the intersection of advanced technology, strategic execution, and meaningful outcomes in a fast-paced, innovation-driven environment.. . Accountabilities. ·         Lead the engineering organization, translating product goals into scalable architecture and robust execution plans.. ·         Build, mentor, and scale high-performing teams across backend, platform, CloudOps, and data engineering functions.. ·         Oversee the operation of cloud-native, distributed systems capable of handling massive volumes of data with high availability, reliability, and compliance.. ·         Champion engineering best practices, including CI/CD, observability, infrastructure as code, and reliability engineering.. ·         Partner with product, compliance, and customer teams to design secure, HIPAA-compliant solutions.. ·         Drive innovation in data architecture, platform extensibility, and scalable microservices infrastructure.. ·         Establish and monitor engineering OKRs and metrics to assess system performance and team productivity.. ·         10+ years in software engineering, with 5+ years in senior leadership roles.. ·         Proven experience scaling distributed systems and data platforms in cloud environments (AWS or GCP).. ·         Deep technical expertise in backend technologies, data pipelines, and distributed architecture.. ·         Strong track record of building and leading high-performing engineering teams.. ·         Experience in regulated industries or delivering compliant, enterprise-grade systems.. ·         Excellent communication, collaboration, and strategic execution skills.. ·         Preferred: experience with FHIR, HL7, healthcare interoperability, real-time data processing (e.g., Kafka), DevSecOps practices, and scaling SaaS platforms.. ·         Strong preference for Boston-based candidates..
