The Role. Ottimate is seeking a highly analytical and technically proficient Payments Analyst to join our Finance team. This is a crucial, high-impact role responsible for being the analytical powerhouse supporting our Payment Operations, Vendor Operations, and Risk teams.. You will not just report data; you will build the data infrastructure, automated monitoring, and predictive models necessary to optimize payment performance, maximize vendor conversion economics, and actively mitigate payments risk across the entire platform.. Responsibilities. . This role is defined by its focus on building systems and automating insights:. . Data Automation & Alerting:. . . Design, build, and maintain automated anomaly detection and alerting systems to monitor the real-time health of payment flows (e.g., sudden dips in success rates, spikes in cost, abnormal transaction velocity).. . Own the data pipeline for Payments—from sourcing raw transactional data (using SQL) to cleaning, transforming, and loading it into visualization tools for analysis.. . . Payments Operational Analysis:. . . Analyze core payments KPIs (e.g., authorization rates, failure codes, processing latency, and settlement timing) to identify operational bottlenecks and drive efficiency improvements within Payment Operations.. . Conduct in-depth analysis on payments mix and routing to optimize transaction costs and maximize revenue from interchange/rebates.. . . Risk and Vendor Intelligence:. . . Develop and maintain robust vendor enrollment and conversion funnel models, forecasting the financial impact of shifting vendors to preferred electronic payment methods (VCC, ACH).. . Partner with the Risk team to model financial exposure and build reporting that tracks potential loss vectors, such as payments fraud attempts and chargeback/return rates.. . . Reporting & Forecasting:. . Produce and distribute standardized, automated management reports and dashboards that clearly communicate the financial health and operational performance of the entire payment ecosystem to cross-functional leaders.. . . 3+ years of experience in a data-intensive analyst role (e.g., Business Intelligence, Analytics Engineering, or FP&A).. . Advanced-level proficiency in SQL for complex data transformation, cleaning, and analysis of high-volume transactional data is mandatory.. . Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field (e.g., Finance, Computer Science, Statistics, or Engineering).. . Advanced proficiency in Power BI or similar BI tools is required, with proven experience building complex, self-service dashboards.. .
