CPA is seeking a collaborative, detail-oriented, and enthusiastic data analytics professional to join our growing team as Analyst, Data and Systems. The Analyst, Data and Systems assists with the implementation of CPA’s Data and Systems Strategic Plan, developing solution requirements, evaluating RFP responses, technical documentation, and working with vendors and consultants to deploy new processes, applications, and systems (e.g. Data Analytics Platform, Forecasting and Analysis, ETRM, Financial Management & Accounting, Financial Modeling, Budget, and Planning Analysis). . . Key areas of focus include but are not limited to data reporting, data storage, cloud environment deployment and ongoing maintenance, requirements gathering and management, technology assessment, interface development, product implementation and support, and project management. The Analyst, Data and Systems will also assist in optimizing solutions to be as cost-effective and efficient as possible and seeking new opportunities to apply information technology to CPA’s business processes. . Requirements Management: Responsible for communicating with internal and external stakeholders to elicit and develop technical requirements, including functional requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria. Responsible for creating, modifying, and verifying technical documentation in Confluence, including project/product release plans, technical requirements, as-built documentation, and product roadmaps. Responsible for collaborating with team members across the organization to create, update, and track features, epics, and tasks in Jira. . Data Reporting & Visualization: Responsible for building reports and data visualizations in Tableau and other reporting tools. Responsible for serving as subject matter expert and assists internal stakeholders with report creation, modification, and technical challenges. Serves as the Tableau administrator for CPA, assigning and removing licenses, and managing folder permissions. . Data Quality & Data Governance: Responsible for creating and maintaining a data catalog of datasets in cloud-based applications (Tableau, Snowflake, AWS, etc.). Responsible for maintaining an inventory of production data products, including pipelines, reports, and models. Responsible for collaborating with team members to develop, document, and maintain data quality standards. Assist internal stakeholders with creating and maintaining data quality dashboard(s). Assists internal and external stakeholders with troubleshooting data quality issues or processes, and transfer issues with service providers. . Systems Deployment Support: Responsible for providing records management support and platform support of SharePoint and other enterprise content management systems. Collaborate with other team members to support deployment and maintenance of third-party systems, custom-built systems, and data pipelines between CPA’s various data sources and Snowflake. . User Support: Responsible for assisting users across the organization with data access, development of standard and customized reports, and technical issues. Implement and maintain business intelligence (BI) tools and dashboards in collaboration with the marketing, customer programs, account services, finance, and power procurement teams. Provide support to internal staff as needed and accurately document and escalate issues as necessary. . Systems Maintenance & Support: Responsible for installing and configuring hardware and software components, including but not limited to antivirus software. Responsible for testing and evaluating new technology, including upgrading systems to enable compatible software. Perform tests on new hardware and software and troubleshoot hardware and software issues. Collaborate with internal stakeholders to analyze IT requirements and provide objective advice on the use of IT. Partner with other members of the Data and Systems team to perform functions such as managing user accounts and profiles in various applications and assisting with preventing and resolving password and security issues. . Strategic Analysis: Responsible for performing strategic analysis to identify trends and anomalies that impact operations and strategy and communicating results and relevant information to senior leadership. Responsible for analyzing large datasets using innovative models and methodologies to derive actionable insights and deliver strategic recommendations to senior leadership. Build analytical and operational capabilities by modeling best practices and collaborative problem solving. Work in close collaboration with the marketing, customer programs, account services, finance and power procurement teams to analyze data. . Vendor Coordination: Responsible for coordination with third-party vendors and service providers to ensure timely delivery of products and services. Responsibilities include coordinating payment and review of invoices, managing licenses and subscriptions, coordinating license renewals, reviewing contracts and service level agreements (SLAs), coordinating support requests or escalations, processing change orders, and tracking vendor performance. Serve as the primary point of contact for vendor issue resolution, procurement updates, and project alignment to ensure vendors meet CPA standards and expectations. . Budget Coordination: Responsible for Data & Systems budget coordination activities, including budget preparation, tracking expenses against budget, forecasting future expenses, analyzing variances, and providing regular Data & Systems financial reporting. Collaborate with leadership, finance teams, and other functional areas to optimize financial resource allocation, support strategic planning, and ensure compliance with CPA financial policies and procedures. . Cloud Cost Management: Monitor, analyze, and optimize cloud spending (AWS, Snowflake, Databricks, etc.) to ensure cost efficiency and alignment with budget. Responsibilities include tracking usage and consumption patterns, identifying cost-saving opportunities, implementing resource tagging and budgeting policies, and generating regular reports for leadership and the Data & Systems team. . Candidates must have a bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience. . Degree in information technology, computer science, or engineering preferred . Knowledge of data systems, analytics, and cloud providers, including Snowflake and AWS. . Experience with Jira, Confluence, or another project management tool. . . Work Location . This position is eligible for either Hybrid or Remote options. The Hybrid option requires 2-3 assigned full-time days in the Downtown Los Angeles office and includes an enhanced transportation allowance. The Remote & Hybrid options require full-time in-person attendance at organization or team-wide events 3 times per year for 3-5 days per event.
