Lead safe, compliant coal production across underground and/or surface operations . Maintain and strengthen . MSHA. compliance programs, inspections, investigations, and corrective actions . Drive daily execution through production planning, crew leadership, equipment utilization, and KPI reporting . Improve equipment availability and reliability (mobile fleet, fixed plant, conveyor systems, prep plant interfaces) . Support ground control, ventilation, and production sequence planning (as applicable) . Oversee contractor management, permitting workflows (role-dependent), and operational readiness . Lead continuous improvement initiatives (cycle time, downtime reduction, cost/ton optimization) . Support capital projects, maintenance shutdowns, and commissioning activities . Develop teams through coaching, SOPs, training, and performance management. Bachelor’s degree in Mining Engineering, Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Safety, or related discipline (or equivalent experience for certain leadership roles) . Typically . 5–12+ years. in coal operations, maintenance, planning, or HSE leadership . Strong experience with . MSHA. requirements; underground and/or surface exposure preferred . Familiarity with maintenance systems (CMMS), work management, reliability practices, and reporting tools .
