As a Staff Performance Engineer, Marketplace, you will play a critical role in ensuring the scalability, reliability, and speed of a dynamic eCommerce platform. You will be responsible for optimizing performance across backend services, frontend applications, and critical transaction workflows, ensuring seamless experiences for both merchants and customers. This role combines deep technical expertise with cross-functional collaboration, enabling you to influence platform architecture, implement performance best practices, and mentor engineering teams. You will work closely with product, finance, and operations teams to translate business requirements into high-performance technical solutions. Accountabilities. Identify, diagnose, and resolve complex performance issues across the full technology stack.. Design and implement scalable solutions for critical systems, including payment gateways, order processing, and merchant management services.. Establish performance monitoring, alerting, and reporting mechanisms, analyzing data to proactively recommend improvements.. Conduct in-depth code reviews, guiding engineering teams on efficient algorithms, optimal data structures, and performance best practices.. Act as a subject matter expert in performance engineering, mentoring junior engineers and fostering a culture of high performance.. Evaluate and introduce new technologies, frameworks, and AI tools to enhance system performance and development velocity.. . 8+ years of experience in full-stack development with expertise in Kotlin or Node.js, React, Next.js, and SQL databases.. Expertise in system performance optimization and scalability best practices.. Experience developing and maintaining frontend applications with React, Next.js, and GraphQL..
