Disability Review Manager (DBQ Manager) at REE Medical. Job Summary:. The DBQ Manager plays a pivotal role in leading a diverse remote team and the overall departmental operations for DBQ Generation and Quality Control. This position involves driving results, fostering employee development, and implementing continuous process improvements. Additionally, the DBQ Manager collaborates with the Director of DBQ Operations to execute company policy and develop department procedures aligned with company goals. This role requires a proactive individual who can work closely with cross-functional teams to deliver product timeline goals, collaborate throughout the operations departments, and contribute to the overall success of REE Medical. Tracking and evaluating department data on a weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual basis are integral aspects of this role. .  . What is expected in this role:. Driving the complete team strategy and direction in collaboration with the Director of DBQ Operations. . Owning the goals, the metrics, and team structure for both DBQ Generation and Quality Control. . Working in tandem with the Director of the department and the supervisors to ensure complete alignment across the teams. . Leading the respective team supervisors for their teams’ success and owns overall department success. . Coaching, mentoring, and tracking each of their teams’ performance ensuring alignment with the overall departmental goals and company strategy. . Owning any supervisors' timecards and PTO approvals and servicing as a backup for the overall team when a supervisor is unavailable. . Setting team goals and tracking towards team success, along with owning each supervisor's development and overall group development for DBQ skills.. Acting as the lead in interview and onboarding processes for all new team members, including their respective GoTeam members. . Overseeing the overall performance management process across the department, this can include coaching conversations, reviews as needed, addressing any performance concerns, etc. . Ensuring the total team follows all processes and procedures related to Operational Programs and safeguarding personally identifiable information / personal health information across the team.   . Serving as REE’s Disability Questionnaire Subject Matter Expert across all departments within REE. . Owning the Disability Review Guide, ensuring content is updated periodically and offers accurate information on Vet case progression. . Owning and servicing as the lead trainer on any updates to the Guide across REE Medical. . Maintaining expertise within the VA’s Rating Schedule as required to own the Disability Review Guide. . Owns the inquiry process for any DBQ-related questions. Ensures timely feedback to teams requesting information or updates across all platforms. . Manages and reports on team compliance within REE Medical’s policies and procedures.. Owning weekly department meetings and bi-weekly staff check-ins to disseminate essential information and updates.. Holding supervisors accountable to their team 1:1s and serving as a backup when supervisors are unavailable. . Eliminating roadblocks across the teams respectively. .  . How success is measured in this role:. Completion of weekly meetings: . hold dept 1:1s with supervisors and bi-weekly meetings with generation and quality control teams.  Lead/support cross-department bi-weekly meetings to enhance collaborations and process improvement.. We will measure the completion of these meetings against the ideal total meeting count per quarter. . Department Timeline. : Maintain DBQ Generation and Quality Control timeline goal of no more than 4 weeks or 15 business days for generation and 5 business days for Quality Control. Error Rates. : Maintain DBQ Generation and Quality Control productivity hourly averages within department standards.. Overtime:. Maintain overtime to 5% or less of total department hours. Production Metrics. : Ensure the department meets Veteran/DBQ Unit Counts as determined by Finance Dept/CFO. . What you need in this role to be successful:. You must be able to overlap with GoTeam morning working times. This candidate is ideal to be in PST; however, we are open to any time zone if the overlapping Philippines morning hours are consistently met by this individual. . Experience within the VA Disability Industry outside of REE is a plus. . Experience in managing people in a remote setting is a plus. . Experience navigating changing priorities and leading teams through time of change. . Excellent analytical, project management, and problem-solving abilities, capable of handling multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment with an eye for continuous improvement and operational efficiency. . Ability to think strategically while still maintaining a detail-oriented, self-motivated, and well-organized mindset. . Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for facilitating effective collaboration across various departments and levels of the organization. Including the ability to navigate difficult conversations with empathy.   . Goal-driven approach with experience leading and coaching remote teams.. High school diploma or equivalent required.. Bachelor’s degree required. Equivalent experience will be considered for candidates with 4 or more years in a related operational or leadership position.. Company Location: United States.
