Strategist. is a client-facing consultant who contributes to the design, development, and deployment of clean energy solutions for Momentum’s clients. This position will lead and deliver client engagements across a range of industries including utilities, zero-emission transportation, and ports and maritime..  . Duties and Responsibilities. Client Strategy and Consulting. . Serve as a strategy lead within project teams, collaborating with clients and colleagues to deliver impactful, fundable solutions.. . Lead components of client engagements, including meetings, workstream ownership, research, and strategic planning.. . Analyze funding eligibility criteria, timelines, and program requirements to inform client strategy.. . Conduct qualitative and quantitative analysis to diagnose business issues and identify solutions. . . Prepare client presentations and facilitate meetings.. . Surface unstated client needs and provide proactive recommendations that drive project success.. . Participate actively in cross-functional teams to advance delivery goals.. .  . Writing and Content Development. . Lead components of client projects focused on funding strategy, project and grant readiness, application development, and technical analysis.. . Draft proposals, funding applications, technical reports, and strategic planning documents with clarity, structure, and precision.. . Translate research and regulatory information into actionable recommendations.. . Tailor written content to clients' needs, funding agencies, and stakeholder audiences.. . Collaborate with peers to refine work to the highest quality standards.. . Facilitate stakeholder engagement, including interviews, workshops, and strategy sessions. .  . Public Funding and Policy Awareness. . Conduct scans of federal, state, and philanthropic funding opportunities, identify and communicate opportunities aligned to client goals.  This includes review of Request for Proposals (RFPs) and Notices of Proposed Awards (NOPAs).. . Track policy trends and funding forecasts to keep clients informed. . . Contribute to internal systems and processes that enhance team efficiency and knowledge sharing.. .  . Other. . Mentor junior staff and contribute to project planning and quality assurance.. . Support business development through scoping, proposal development, and relationship management.. . Perform other related duties as assigned.. .  . Billable Expectation. This client-facing position has an. 80% utilization rate. (1,664 billable hours annually for full-time workers).. Supervisory Responsibilities. None.. Reporting Relationship. The Strategist reports to a Portfolio Manager..  . Location. This is a California based remote eligible position but may require occasional travel to Sacramento and various project sites throughout California and the U.S. Training and onboarding are carried out in person at our Sacramento office.. Experience conducting strategic analyses and developing actionable recommendations.. . Ability to manage multiple priorities and work collaboratively with teams.. . Exceptional writing and communication skills, with the ability to translate complex ideas for a range of audiences.. . Familiarity with national and state clean energy, zero-emission transportation, climate, or infrastructure policy landscape.. . Strong understanding of federal and state grantmaking and grant implementation processes (e.g., DOE, EPA, USDA, California Energy Commission, NSF, philanthropic foundations).. . Experience in client service settings or matrixed project teams.. . Experience engaging with, presenting to, and cultivating relationships with policymakers and regulators.. . Comfortable leading meetings, facilitating conversations, and engaging with clients independently. . Desired Education and Experience. . 5-8+ years of professional working experience in sustainability/cleantech, with experience level varying based on expertise and efficiency.. . Subject matter expertise in consulting, grant development, policy, technical writing, and/or strategy.. . Company Location: United States.
