Engagement type: Independent Contractor Agreement. Work Schedule: This role is expected to align with the AU business hours (approx. 9 AM - 5 PM, Monday to Friday) for collaboration, but as a contractor, you’ll have flexibility in how you manage your time.. Role Overview: We are seeking an exceptional Senior Payroll Officer to join our high-performing team. This role offers the opportunity to take ownership of payroll operations, ensure compliance, and contribute to shaping best practices that drive us toward a “Gold Class” standard in payroll execution.. Key Responsibilities: . . Manage end-to-end payroll processing with accuracy and compliance.. . Maintain and update the Payroll & HRIS platform with precise data entry and validation.. . Investigate and resolve payroll-related queries via email and phone.. . Perform manual calculations and reconciliations, covering overtime, travel, allowances, superannuation, tax, and leave balances.. . Interpret awards (with a focus on the Miscellaneous and Clerical Award) to ensure correct application of entitlements.. . Collaborate with the finance team and other business units to provide payroll support.. . Contribute to continuous improvement by enhancing current processes and implementing new best practices.. . Handle ad-hoc payroll tasks as required.. . Required Skills and Qualifications:. . Minimum 5+ years of payroll experience, ideally within the Australian market.. . Strong end-to-end payroll expertise with proven knowledge of Australian payroll legislation and compliance.. . Demonstrated experience in award interpretation, particularly the Miscellaneous and Clerical Award.. . High attention to detail with the ability to manage complex calculations, reconciliations, and payroll reporting.. . Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with stakeholders across the business.. .
