Senior Financial Operations (FinOps) Consultant. to support and optimize financial operations with a strong emphasis on . revenue recognition, operational accounting, and financial systems strategy. . This role is ideal for a seasoned finance professional (7–10 years of experience) who can operate effectively in both . tactical execution. and . strategic design. capacities.. The ideal candidate will run core financial operations processes in the near term while also . designing and implementing a scalable, future-state FinOps model. . This role will also shape tools, systems, and processes to optimize and improve long-term financial operational efficiency. . This is a remote, long term consulting role. Qualified candidates must live in the United States and be willing to work other time zones at times to accommodate different offices.. This role does not offer visa sponsorship. . Responsibilities.  . Revenue Recognition & Operational Accounting. ·       Own and oversee end-to-end . revenue recognition processes. , including revenue collection, contract review, compliance, and ongoing operational execution. ·       Partner closely with . Accounting and Legal. to ensure proper treatment of complex revenue arrangements and adherence to applicable accounting standards. ·       . Support . month-end close activities. , including revenue, deferred revenue, and other operational accounting items. Financial Operations & Controls. ·       Establish, document, and maintain . financial operations policies, internal controls, and standard operating procedures (SOPs). ·       Ensure consistency, accuracy, and audit readiness across revenue and operational accounting processes. Systems, Tools & Automation Strategy. ·       Evaluate existing . financial systems, tools, and workflows. to identify gaps, risks, and inefficiencies. ·       Lead recommendations for . FinOps tooling, system integrations, and process automation. to support scale and efficiency. ·       Partner with . Engineering, Data, and IT. teams to support system implementations, integrations, and data integrity. Reporting & Insights. ·       Improve the . accuracy, timeliness, and usability of reporting. related to revenue and operational metrics. ·       Enable finance leadership with clear, actionable insights to support decision-making. Strategic Partnership. ·       Act as a . strategic thought partner. to finance leadership on scaling financial operations as the business grows. ·       Help define the . future-state financial operations model. , balancing near-term execution with long-term scalability. Qualifications.  . ·       7–10 years experience in . financial operations, revenue accounting, or operational finance. , ideally in a high-growth or technology-driven environment. ·       Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting or similar is required. . ·       Advanced degrees or certifications such as CPA or CFA is preferred. . ·       Deep and proven expertise in . revenue recognition, revenue collection. and operational accounting processes. ·       Proven experience evaluating and implementing . financial systems, tools, and process improvements. ·       Strong ability to operate in . ambiguous, evolving environments. and build structure from the ground up. ·       Excellent cross-functional communication skills with experience partnering across Finance, Legal, Engineering, Data, and IT. ·       Hands-on mindset with the ability to execute today while designing for the future. ·       Executive presence and ability to lead meetings effectively representing financial operations . Compensation. For individuals assigned and/or hired to work in Colorado, Sand Cherry Associates is required by law to include a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role. This compensation range considers a wide range of factors considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and delivery model. This is a long term consulting engagement with an annual salary range of $125-150k. Years of experience, level of education, geographic location, unique skills/qualifications for the specific role and potential certifications can be key factors in the final compensation for this role..  .
