What You'll Do:. SkyCell’s IoT team is at the forefront of developing the next-generation IoT devices, which are integral to our global network of temperature-controlled containers. These devices ensure the safe and secure delivery of life-saving pharmaceuticals, with sustainability at the core of everything we do. The team uses modern, standard technology, focusing on reliability and security, and is proud to be a great and esteemed counterpart of our hardware, software, and cloud teams.. In this role you'll also:. . Design and implement embedded firmware for low-power IoT devices using C/C++ (RTOS or bare-metal). . Integrate wireless communication technologies such as BLE, LoRa, or Cellular. . Build and operate cloud-side ingestion pipelines and device fleet management systems. . Implement secure and robust OTA update mechanisms for remote firmware management. . Contribute to the design and deployment of scalable cloud architectures for IoT integrations. . Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines for firmware and cloud components (e.g., GitHub Actions). . Collaborate with cross-functional teams across firmware, hardware, and cloud domains. . Troubleshoot complex system-level issues across device, connectivity, and cloud layers. . Contribute to architecture and process improvements based on emerging best practices. . . Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field. . Proven experience with embedded firmware development in C/C++ (RTOS or bare-metal). . Understanding of embedded interfaces: I2C, SPI, UART. . Hands-on experience with wireless protocols: BLE, LoRa, or Cellular. . Familiarity with IoT communication protocols and data formats (MQTT, HTTP/REST, CoAP, Protobuf, JSON). . Experience managing cloud-based ingestion and lifecycle systems for connected device fleets. . Comfortable with backend languages (e.g., Python, Go, Node.js, or Java) for device integration and automation. . Experience designing cloud-connected IoT systems at scale. . Proven implementation of OTA updates in production systems. . Strong system-level debugging and problem-solving skills. . Language: EN. . Nice to Have. . AWS or Azure Solution Architect certification. . Familiarity with digital twins, device shadows, or telemetry schema modelling. . Ability to evaluate and work with cloud infrastructure models, including serverless, containerised, and virtual machine–based deployments, based on IoT solution requirements. . Experience with cloud platforms and IoT frameworks (e.g., AWS IoT, Azure IoT, GCP, or custom cloud infrastructure). . Exposure to IaC and configuration tools (Terraform, CloudFormation, Serverless Framework, Ansible). . Hands-on experience with CI/CD tooling for embedded and cloud deployments. .
