Azure Systems Admin - Security at Datex Inc.. We are seeking a skilled Azure Systems Administrator Security to manage the security posture of our Azure cloud environment. This role is critical to ensuring the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of our cloud-based systems and data. The successful candidate will be a key member of the Azure Systems Administrators team, collaborating closely with infrastructure, identity, and DevOps specialists to maintain a secure and compliant cloud ecosystem.. *Candidates must be located in the Canada*. Key Responsibilities. Azure Security Management. Implement, configure, and manage Azure security controls across subscriptions, resource groups, and workloads. Administer Azure Active Directory (Azure AD) and Entra ID, including MFA, conditional access, and identity governance. Configure and monitor Microsoft Defender for Cloud and Microsoft Sentinel for threat detection and response. Oversee Privileged Identity Management (PIM) and enforce least privilege access principles. Security Compliance and Governance. Ensure alignment with ISO 27001, NIST, and CIS Benchmarks. Develop and enforce security policies using Azure Policy and Blueprints. Conduct regular security assessments, gap analyses, and risk mitigation planning. Maintain compliance documentation and support internal/external audits. Threat Protection and Incident Response. Monitor security alerts and analyze threats using Sentinel and third-party SIEM tools. Respond to incidents, perform root cause analysis, and implement preventive measures. Maintain and refine incident response playbooks for Azure environments. Identity and Access Management. Manage RBAC for secure access to Azure resources. Configure Just-In-Time (JIT) access for VMs and privileged roles. Audit user access, permissions, and authentication activities. Data Protection and Encryption. Manage Azure Key Vault for secrets and key lifecycle. Enforce encryption for data at rest and in transit. Configure and monitor Data Loss Prevention (DLP) policies. Automation and Security Operations. Develop automation scripts using PowerShell, Azure CLI, and ARM/Bicep templates. Implement automated alerting, remediation, and compliance reporting. Support DevSecOps integration in CI/CD pipelines. Monitoring and Reporting. Maintain Azure Security Center dashboards for visibility and reporting. Track key security metrics and trends to improve posture. Generate reports for leadership and compliance teams. Documentation and Knowledge Sharing. Create and maintain security documentation, procedures, and policies. Conduct security awareness sessions for IT and business stakeholders. Stay current with emerging Azure security technologies and threat intelligence. Proven experience in Azure security administration or cloud security engineering. Preferred certifications: Microsoft Certified: Azure Security Engineer Associate, SC-100, AZ-500. Verifiable knowledge of Azure AD / Entra ID, RBAC, Conditional Access. Hands-on experience with Microsoft Defender for Cloud, Sentinel, and Key Vault. Solid understanding of network security, firewalls, and Zero Trust architecture. Proficiency in PowerShell, ARM/Bicep templates, and security automation. Familiarity with SIEM/SOAR tools and incident response workflows. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, cross-functional team environment.
