Manufacturing engineers can use the Basetwo platform to:. . improve their understanding of their plant. . make better decisions in real-time. . build robust data transformation pipelines. . ingest and connect siloed databases. . The Role. As a Backend Software Engineer, you will be working on the Basetwo platform. You will maintain a close working relationship with our product, data and design teams to bring about the best-in-class experience for our users and then implement them in a modular, scalable manner.. What You’ll Do. . . Design and build data models, services, and APIs to power the Basetwo platform - all while maintaining the right balance between developer experience, scaling, performance, reliability, and long-term maintainability. . Take full ownership of building, shipping, and maintaining core Basetwo features end to end, for maximum customer and business impact. . Work at all levels of the stack with a concentration on the backend. . Build tools to automate processes and increase productivity for your team. . Advocate and evangelize best practices to other engineers. . What You’ll Need. . You care about the user, strive to understand their needs, and build tools to solve their problems.. . We’re a startup and project needs can change quickly. You’re someone that loves to jump into a new problem, learn what’s needed, and solve it. . You’re a backend engineering specialist or software engineering generalist with 3+ years of industry experience with strong communication skills.. . Have a strong foundation in API design, distributed systems, service oriented architectures, and backend implementation. . Production experience with SQL and database design using PostgreSQL or similar. . Have experience with containerization technologies (Ex: Docker, Kubernetes, ECS, etc.). . You have a strong background in computer science fundamentals with a degree in CS or a related field. . Strong sense of ownership and focus on long-term usability and extensibility. . Bonus:. . Expertise working with AWS. . Proficient in Python. . Have a startup mentality: team player, self-motivated, high-integrity, pragmatic, resourceful, can execute under pressure. .
