As our Technical SEO Specialist, you’ll dive deep into technical audits, automation initiatives, AI content optimisation, link-building, and GEO/AI-driven search strategies - working alongside our Global SEO Manager to deliver a world-class global SEO strategy. We’re looking for someone who lives and breathes technical SEO, thrives on solving complex challenges, and brings proven experience (ideally from an agency, SaaS, or marketplace background). You’ll be detail-oriented, analytical, and a strong communicator, with a hunger to learn, grow, and push the boundaries of SEO in the age of AI-driven search.. You will. . Play a key role in shaping & influencing the Global SEO/GEO Strategy for Employment Hero alongside the Global SEO Manager & SEO team with a technical-first mindset. . . Lead advanced technical SEO/GEO/AI initiatives and conduct regular technical SEO audits to identify opportunities in (but not limited to) site architecture, Core Web Vitals optimisation, structured data/schema implementation, crawl budget management, hreflang strategy and log file analysis.. . Collaborate closely with engineering and product teams to scope and prioritise technical SEO fixes, ensuring SEO requirements are built into product roadmaps.. . Optimise crawl efficiency and log monitoring processes to reduce wasted crawl budget and improve indexation of high-value pages.. . Implement and monitor structured data testing frameworks to ensure schema remains compliant and updated with evolving Google standards.. . Drive site migrations and technical change management (domain migrations, platform upgrades, new feature launches) to safeguard SEO performance.. . Develop programmatic SEO opportunities to scale landing pages and content hubs while maintaining quality and compliance with SEO best practices.. . Drive international SEO best practices, ensuring websites are optimised across regions (AU, NZ, UK, CA) with correct geo-targeting and hreflang setup.. . Monitor and adapt to AI-driven search developments (GEO/SGE/AEO), and proactively integrate strategies to capture visibility in emerging search experiences.. . Analyse and report on SEO/GEO performance using GA4, Search Console, Ahrefs, SEMRush, and Looker Studio, turning data into actionable insights and recommendations that drive growth.. . Automate SEO/GEO processes using tools and AI workflows for audits, keyword research, site crawls, and backlink analysis.. . Lead the creation and optimisation of SEO-focused landing pages, partnering with designers, engineers, and CRO teams to launch and iterate on pages that deliver both search growth and commercial outcomes.. . Collaborate with Content and PR teams to deliver SEO-first content strategies that are data-driven.. . Proactively track Google algorithm updates, AI-search trends, and industry innovations, ensuring Employment Hero remains ahead of competitors.. . Advocate for SEO/GEO best practices across teams, helping to elevate SEO/GEO knowledge and its business impact across the organisation. . Provide weekly updates on Technical SEO performance and insights to the Global SEO Manager.. . Who you are . Qualifications & Background: Degree in Computer Science, or equivalent technical/web development experience. 3–5 years’ SEO experience (agency, B2B SaaS, or marketplace preferred) with strong technical SEO and strategy expertise.. . Technical SEO Expertise: Proven hands-on experience managing complex technical SEO challenges, including site architecture, crawl optimisation, and indexing. Skilled at collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver solutions, with a strong track record in improving Core Web Vitals, implementing structured data/schema, and enhancing overall site performance.. . Enterprise SEO: Proven track record managing large-scale websites (hundreds of thousands to millions of URLs), using data-driven approaches to identify issues and unlock SEO/GEO growth. Strong preference for candidates with programmatic or PLG/product-led SEO expertise.. . AI & Emerging Search: Keen understanding of AI-driven search (SGE, GEO AEO) with interest in automation and scaling SEO workflows using AI. Think automating SEO manual tasks with AI and/or Python. . . Tools & Platforms: Proficient in GA4, Search Console, Tag Manager, Ahrefs, SEMRush, Screaming Frog, Looker Studio, WordPress; familiar with project management tools (Asana, Confluence, Jira). Hands-on experience with HTML, CSS, and JS or Python and APIs. Bonus: Hotjar, Mixpanel, AI writing tools.. . Data & Analysis: Strong analytical mindset with advanced data literacy and attention to detail. Skilled in using spreadsheets (Google Sheets/Excel: pivot tables, VLOOKUP, formulas) to translate data into actionable recommendations and build business cases. Familiar with SQL for deeper analysis.. . Collaboration & Communication: Excellent communicator, comfortable working with engineers, product teams, and stakeholders. Able to document SOPs and explain complex SEO concepts clearly. . . Ways of Working: Proactive self-starter with strong time management and organisational skills.
