Lead Generalist Asset Artist at One Of Us. The Lead Generalist Asset Artist oversees the delivery and technical quality of 3D assets across characters, props, and environments within a show or team. The role includes hands-on asset work, leadership of mid and senior artists, and communication with supervisors and production to ensure creative alignment and efficient workflows.. Duties: . . Team Management: Guide day-to-day work of asset artists, assigning tasks and supporting team delivery and defining good working practices. Act as the go-to contact for asset team progress and troubleshooting. Balancing hands-on work with oversight responsibilities. . Team mentorship: Foster a supportive, productive, and communicative team culture. Coaching and providing feedback and development opportunities. . Quality Control: Review assets and ensure they meet visual and technical standards before submission. Ensure consistent, high-quality asset delivery across a project. . Cross-Department Liaison: Coordinate with rigging, lighting, and other departments to resolve blockers. . Asset Delivery: Contribute key assets for hero shots and complex scenes as needed. . Pipeline Integration: Identify workflow gaps and support pipeline updates or tool requests. . Scheduling: Work with production to ensure asset deadlines are realistic and met. Communication: Represent the asset team in reviews and dailies with clarity and confidence. . Skills, attributes and experience:. . Advanced proficiency in modeling, texturing, lookdev, and scene assembly. . Deep understanding of the asset lifecycle and downstream dependencies. . 8+ years in VFX or a related field. . Experience with USD, real-time integration, or complex asset referencing systems. . Maya, Houdini, Nuke experience is a must. . Familiarity with studio-wide production tracking tools (e.g., ShotGrid). . Basic scripting or pipeline tool feedback awareness. . Strong leadership skills, ability to inspire, share a clear vision and get the best out of everyone. . Excellent communicator, sharing information clearly and actively listening . . Strong time management, ability to prioritize, meet deadlines and escalate delays in a timely manner. . Adaptable to change with the ability to stay focused and maintain a positive attitude . .
