Lap of Love Veterinary Hospice, headquartered in Lutz, FL., seeks to add a key member to its growing team by employing a dynamic Pet Loss Grief Coach to support our Pet Loss Support Team, an extension of Lap of Love’s Support Center. This individual will play an instrumental role in Lap of Love’s day-to-day operations by providing compassionate support to families coping with the heartbreaking loss of a beloved pet. In our uplifting and supportive environment, Pet Loss Grief Coaches find deep fulfillment in helping others navigate the unique pain of pet loss.. Essential Functions and Responsibilities:. Create a safe and welcoming space for families to express their grief. Gather and accurately document families’ personal and pet-loss related information. Actively listen and communicate effectively with participating families. Facilitate Zoom support groups with up to 30 participants. Host Facebook Live sessions on selected grief-related topics. Provide one-on-one personal support sessions for grieving families. Lead a six-week small-group curriculum for families needing additional support. Experience, Education and Requirements: . Associate's degree, or higher . preferred. Experience in pet loss support or related fields . preferred. Certification in Grief Companionship, Pet Loss, or Grief Counseling . preferred. A passion for contributing to a family-oriented, supportive culture. Strong, professional interpersonal and communication skills. Critical thinking and problem-solving abilities. A deep understanding of pet loss and grief support. Compassion, patience, and confidence in supporting grieving families.. Strong multitasking skills while engaging in conversations. High attention to detail and accuracy. Physical and Other Job Requirements:. Able to sit for prolonged periods of time of up to 8 hours per day. Able to frequently communicate by telephone and through use of computer technologies, including but not limited to email and video conferencing. Possess manual dexterity, fine motor skills, and the ability to operate a computer, read a computer screen and type on a keyboard for prolonged periods of time of up to 8 hours per day. Able to multitask using multiple computer tabs/platforms while engaging in conversation. Able to quickly learn custom software and other programs, such as Zoom, Sunshine, and Google Suite. Average or above average working knowledge of the internet and scheduling and communications applications and software, such as Gmail, Google Calendar, and web-based communication platforms. Access to reliable and secure internet. Maintain confidentiality of all patient, client, and business information.
