We are currently looking for a Security Architect SME in the United States.. We are seeking a highly skilled Security Architect SME to lead the design and assessment of secure enterprise architectures across cloud and on-premise environments. In this role, you will develop security guidance, reference architectures, and standards to support large-scale government systems. You will collaborate with technical and operational teams to implement Zero Trust architectures, enforce least privilege access, and align system designs with federal cybersecurity mandates such as NIST SP 800-53. The ideal candidate will combine deep technical knowledge with hands-on experience in security architecture assessment, system hardening, and risk management. Develop, align, and maintain security architecture standards, reference diagrams, and guidance for cloud and on-premise systems.. . Design and assess enterprise security architectures, ensuring compliance with NIST and other federal security standards.. . Lead Zero Trust initiatives, enforcing least privilege access controls and automating security mechanisms.. . Document security boundaries, categorize systems, and define technical and organizational security requirements.. . Evaluate security postures, identify gaps, and provide actionable recommendations to enhance protection.. . Create high-quality technical deliverables, including reports, white papers, reference architectures, and briefings for technical and non-technical audiences.. . Collaborate with stakeholders to translate functional requirements into secure system designs and provide guidance on risk management and compliance.. . Support acquisition and procurement efforts by defining security requirements, estimating costs, and evaluating proposed capabilities.. . . 7+ years designing security architectures referencing NIST controls, agency policies, and government-wide security mandates.. . 2+ years of experience implementing Zero Trust architectures in cloud and on-premise environments.. . Hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure security services and integration of COTS tools.. . Proven experience assessing security architectures, documenting findings, and delivering presentations.. . Deep knowledge of NIST SP 800-53 Rev. 5 and related federal cybersecurity standards.. .
