Key Ext Relationships:. Security advisors, tracking platform vendors, HEAT training providers, INGOs.. Job Purpose:. To ensure HALO’s operational security policies and procedures are maintained and implemented effectively, enabling safe delivery of operations while mitigating risk to personnel, infrastructure and assets.. HALO addresses human suffering caused by armed violence in some of the world’s most fragile places, securing weapons and ammunition and working with both state and community actors to reduce the prevalence of armed violence.. About the role:. This part-time position ensures HALO’s security systems, protocols and training are fit for purpose and aligned with global standards. The role involves supporting country programmes in managing operational risks through assessments, training, documentation, and systems improvement.. Key responsibilities:. . Maintain and develop HALO's security manual and operating procedures.. . Support programmes with risk assessments, security plans, SOPs, incident management exercises, and checklists.. . Oversee SAFE and PSAT (HEAT) training alignment and attendance in coordination with HR and Training teams.. . Monitor and improve deployment of global staff tracking and emergency communications systems.. . Maintain HALO’s Serious Incident Management Plan and associated procedures.. . Deliver crisis management training and guidance to HQ and field programmes.. . Advise programmes on enhancing local security networks and mapping stakeholders.. . Guide programmes on development of security infrastructure, communications, and contingency planning.. . Source or deliver supplementary training tailored to country-specific risks.. . Support and coordinate with programmes on context-specific security tasks and improvements.. . General:. . Uphold HALO’s core values and standards, promoting its ethos and mission statement.. . Ensure familiarity with and adherence to all HALO policies and procedures, especially the code of conduct and safeguarding. . Essential:. . Demonstrated and relevant experience in security roles.. . Strong analytical skills and experience conducting risk assessments.. . Experience developing and implementing risk mitigation plans.. . Effective communicator with the ability to provide practical guidance.. . Ability to work cross-culturally in diverse operating environments.. . Strong ICT skills, including Microsoft Office and security platforms.. . Fluent written and spoken English.. . Willingness and ability to travel internationally if required.. . Desirable:. . Experience working in humanitarian security contexts.. . INGO field-based experience.. . Recognised security management qualifications.. . Familiarity with tracking and monitoring technologies.. .
