As a Cybersecurity Auditor at Secure Schools, you will play a critical role in helping schools and multi-academy trusts strengthen their cyber resilience. You’ll own the delivery of Cybersecurity audits from start to finish, ensuring our education partners meet key security standards and are better protected against cyber threats. This role is about more than compliance, your work will directly help safeguard pupils, staff, and systems from disruption and harm. You’ll be making a meaningful difference where it matters most, in the day-to-day safety and continuity of our schools. From time to time, you will assist international clients across different time zones, supporting educators worldwide in creating safer educational environments.. What you’ll be doing:. . Conduct comprehensive Cyber Essentials and Cyber Essentials Plus assessments for schools and MAT (multi-academy trusts), supporting customers from initial scoping through to final certification.. . Build relationships with a diverse customer base across our operating regions. Engage in structured conversations with school leaders, IT teams, and other stakeholders to gather accurate and relevant information.. . Support the full audit lifecycle, including scheduling, data gathering, assessment, evidence review, technical verification, and certification.. . Write and deliver audit and research reports that communicate findings clearly, and provide actionable recommendations tailored to the education sector.. . Act as a trusted advisor and subject matter expert in customer conversations and pre-sales engagements, particularly where Cyber Essentials or related standards are part of the solution offering.. . Work closely with the Sales and Customer Success teams to scope, plan, and deliver audit and assessment projects. Coordinate with the Offensive Security team to ensure seamless handover for penetration testing and other follow-up services.. . Provide feedback on assessment processes, tools, and internal systems to enhance service delivery. Participate in the design of cybersecurity-related features in new or existing Secure Schools platforms.. . Stay informed on emerging threats, technologies, and best practices specific to schools and MATs. Conduct targeted research to ensure assessments remain relevant and impactful.. . Help identify and implement new methods, tools, and processes that enhance our audit capabilities and improve security outcomes for our education partners.. . What we’re hoping you’ll bring:. . Holds a CISSP, CISM, or other relevant certification that meets the requirements for conducting Cyber Essentials and Cyber Essentials Plus assessments.. . Proven experience in conducting IT security audits, ideally within structured frameworks such as Cyber Essentials (Plus) or ISO/IEC 27001.. . Hands-on experience with tools and technologies used for network, infrastructure, and application-level audits.. . Ability to explain complex technical findings clearly and concisely to both technical and non-technical stakeholders, including school leaders and IT staff.. . Demonstrated commitment to promoting a security-first culture within organisations, with an emphasis on education, risk awareness, and practical implementation.. . Able to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, evolving environment.. . Comfortable adapting to different client needs, technologies, and working hours, including supporting customers across multiple time zones when needed.. . A clear interest in continuous learning and staying current with trends, threats, and best practices in the cybersecurity landscape.. . Previous experience working within or alongside the education sector, with an understanding of the operational and cultural context of schools and multi-academy trusts (desirable). . . Awareness of the unique cybersecurity challenges faced by educational institutions, including limited resources, legacy systems, and safeguarding responsibilities (desirable).. .
