We are currently hiring a Director, Clinical Monitoring to join our team! As Director, Clinical Monitoring, you will have the opportunity to oversee and manage of all Clinical Trial Operations (CTO) clinical monitoring activities and staff. You will be responsible for the development of the clinical research associates (CRA) and Managers of Clinical Monitoring to ensure optimal performance, career development, and retention of high performers. You will drive the resourcing, planning, implementation, and tracking of all monitoring and related activities. This role will provide leadership in the implementation of Rho’s quality initiatives and business processes, and achievement of management goals within the framework of the company’s core values, policies, and business practices. You will serve as a contributing and essential member of the Clinical Trial Operations leadership team.. What you'll be doing:. . Direct report / functional management responsibilities for Managers of Clinical Monitoring, meeting routinely to provide mentorship and leadership and discuss development and performance; manage the staffing of the Clinical Monitoring Team, maintaining projected resourcing needs based on current and future business; maintain and implement strategic plans for an optimal mix of CRA experience, tenure, and contract/employee ratio. . Maintain retrospective and prospective vigilance of utilization, realization, resourcing, and performance for the Clinical Monitoring team. . Take responsibility for the continual assessment of clinical monitoring employee resources and resource projections to ensure that project teams are staffed to meet client expectations and contractual obligations; determine level and type of clinical monitoring employee resources needed to meet corporate/client/project objectives.. . Partner collaboratively with all CTO Functional Leads to ensure quality, efficiency, and timeliness of all relevant project deliverables; drive collaboration with Project Managers and Clinical Team Leads to ensure proper FTE assignments of CRAs in each project as well as customer satisfaction, high quality deliverables, and profitability for all clinical monitoring projects. . Actively participate in CTO process and quality improvement initiatives. . Oversee, contribute to, and approve of content in all Quality Events involving Clinical Monitoring. . Report monthly to CTO leadership on staffing development progress, projections, gaps and potential needs, highlighting key areas of accomplishments, KPIs and risks. . Own and manage the CRA continual assessment and sign-off process and associated procedural documents and tools. . In cooperation with the Managers of Clinical Monitoring, take responsibility for the continual assessment of CRA knowledge and compliance to GCP/ICH, Rho Procedural Documents and protocols in practice and ensures a continued level of optimal performance. Supplement assessments by proactively seeking input from appropriate project managers, CTLs and other project team members as to project-specific performance.. . Provide dynamic mentorship in all aspects of clinical monitoring serves as escalation point and technical expert for employees and clients as needed; provide clinical monitoring training by delivering effective orientation, mentoring, and career development opportunities; collaborates with the Organizational Development team to manage, plan, create, and present learning and training opportunities for current and future clinical operations employees; ensure employee compliance with assigned trainings. . May participate in Business Development activities, such as client presentations and/or bid defense meetings as well as contribute to proposals and budgets development. . May participate in Sponsor and Regulatory Authority audits as requested by Quality Assurance (QA). . Stay current on clinical operations and industry trends and how these may impact staff development and clinical management approaches, working closely with the CTO Leadership. . Participate in quality efforts for continuous improvement by assuring quality metrics are in line with company, client and clinical operations objectives . . . Bachelor’s Degree along with at least 6 years clinical monitoring or clinical team lead experience (or equivalent combination of experience and education); at least 4 years of experience managing CRAs, either via direct line management or in a matrix/project management environment; and at least 2 years of relevant experience at Associate Director level or above preferred; previous CRO experience preferred. . . Exhibits clear understanding of the drug development process.. . Strong understanding of people management, project staffing, department resourcing and utilization, and typical CRA team structures. . Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with coworkers, managers and clients.. . Demonstrates effective decision-making skills.. . Experience developing and mentoring staff.. . Proven ability to balance competing priorities; ability to see patterns in issues, proactively address critical and/or systemic issues while effectively prioritizing to support progress.. .
