As part of the Startups Team, you’ll help early-stage businesses set up equity schemes that support growth, retention, and long-term success. Equity is often new territory for founders, and you’ll play a consultative role—guiding them through complex decisions with clarity and care.. Your work will be pivotal in helping these startups get investment-ready, attract top talent, and retain their key people through effective equity planning.. Key responsibilities for this role. While this list isn’t exhaustive, these are the core elements of the role:. Own the full sales cycle. Engage with inbound and outbound leads from the Startups Team, providing expert, tailored advice about equity schemes. Deliver product demonstrations that showcase how Vestd helps startups manage equity simply and compliantly. Drive enterprise growth. Identify, build relationships, and convert founders and C-level stakeholders of early-stage businesses. Lead and coordinate complex deal cycles involving multiple decision-makers and cross-functional teams. Collaborate cross-functionally. Partner with SDR, product, marketing, and customer success teams to ensure a seamless client journey. Provide insights from the field to help shape product direction and go-to-market strategy. Manage and maintain your pipeline. Develop an in-depth understanding of share schemes, staying up to date with legislation and market trends. Maintain an organised pipeline and achieve personal and team sales targets. Represent Vestd at startup and founder networking events to build relationships, generate leads, and stay connected to the startup community. Essential elements for this role. These are the skills and qualifications we consider most important:. Experience in consultative sales or business development, ideally working with early-stage companies. Confidence in explaining complex ideas simply, particularly to non-expert audiences. Proven ability to build trust with founders and leadership teams. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. Tech-minded with experience using CRM systems (ideally HubSpot). Interest in startups, entrepreneurship, and equity management (prior knowledge is a bonus but not required—you’ll learn with us). Self-motivated, collaborative, and eager to learn.
