Director Business Development at TerraPay. The Director, Business Development for China & North Asia will drive TerraPay's expansion across one of the most dynamic and regulated markets in the world. This is a strategic role requiring a mix of sales, market expertise, solutioning capabilities, and an entrepreneurial mindset to grow TerraPay’s footprint and establish a leadership presence in the region. . Key Responsibilities: . The Director Business Development (BD) will significantly impact TerraPay's growth and presence across the China through the following key responsibilities: . Lead TerraPay’s efforts in China & North Asia, targeting large payment companies, banks, wallet providers, and other financial institutions. . Develop and execute a comprehensive business development strategy for the region, focused on building long-term partnerships and growing revenue. . Be the face of TerraPay in North Asia, representing the company at regulatory bodies, industry forums, and events, while building a robust network within the payments ecosystem. . Work with existing customers in the region to expand TerraPay’s share of wallet and grow partnerships by identifying and solutioning for new use cases. . Collaborate with TerraPay’s product, compliance, and operations teams to ensure offerings align with the unique regulatory and market requirements of China & North Asia. . Demonstrate deep understanding of the China payments ecosystem, including regulations, cross-border flow trends, and cultural nuances, to tailor TerraPay’s approach. . Support the customization of TerraPay’s products and services to meet the regulatory and business needs of the market. . Drive opportunities to build and grow a regional team as TerraPay’s footprint in the region expands, with the potential to establish a China-based entity. . Manage the end-to-end sales cycle, from prospecting to contracting, while maintaining a focus on delivering value to customers and fostering long-term relationships. . Experience: Minimum of 10 years in Payments, FinTech, or Financial Services, with proven success in business development and solution sales. Prior experience working in or with the China market is mandatory. . Market Expertise: Deep understanding of the China payments ecosystem, including regulatory requirements, compliance frameworks, and market dynamics. . Network: Strong contacts in the payments industry, including banks, large payment companies, and wallet providers in the region. . Skills: Solution-oriented mindset with an ability to identify, customize, and deliver value-driven solutions to customers. Excellent communication, negotiation, and organizational skills. . Leadership Potential: Demonstrated ability to build teams, drive strategy, and establish a regional presence. . Cultural Fit: Collaborative and cross-cultural, with an ability to work seamlessly with stakeholders across geographies and languages. . Education: Bachelor’s degree; advanced degree is a plus. . Languages: Fluent in English and Mandarin; proficiency in Cantonese is a plus. .  . Location & Work Eligibility: . This role is open to candidates who are already eligible to work and reside in Mainland China or Hong Kong. TerraPay is unable to sponsor work visas for this position. . The role can be based in Mainland China or Hong Kong, with a preference for candidates located in Mainland China. However, the candidate should have the flexibility to travel extensively within the region, including frequent travel between Hong Kong and China. . Company Location: China.
