What you'd be doing in this role. As the Engineering Manager for Global Payments, you’ll be at the heart of Canva’s financial technology revolution. Leading a talented team, you’ll architect systems that process billions of transactions globally, ensuring reliability, scalability, and innovation at every step.. At the moment, this role is focused on:. Leading the design and delivery of next-gen payment systems handling 10x current volume. Architecting fault-tolerant, high-throughput payment infrastructure with smart routing and fraud prevention. Building strong partnerships with payment service providers like Stripe and Adyen to unlock new capabilities. Cultivating a high-performing team culture with coaching, growth, and innovation. Driving operational excellence with robust monitoring, incident response, and reliability standards. Navigating global payment complexities, including compliance, multi-currency flows, and local payment methods. You're probably a match if you have:. Proven success in leading backend teams, building distributed systems at scale. A track record of developing talent and shipping impactful systems.
