We are seeking a Technical Sales Engineer to partner with our Account Executives in driving new business opportunities and expanding client relationships within the cybersecurity consulting space. This individual will serve as the technical bridge between our services and prospective clients—translating business challenges into tailored cybersecurity solutions.. The ideal candidate possesses broad technical knowledge across various cybersecurity domains, strong communication skills, and a passion for helping organizations resolve complex security challenges. While deep expertise in one area is not required, the Technical Sales Engineer should be comfortable discussing a wide range of security topics and guiding customers toward the right mix of our services.. Responsibilities. Collaborate with AEs to effectively communicate the technical value of our cybersecurity consulting services during prospect calls, demos, and presentations.. Become the expert on the DirectDefense portfolio of services and develop client-facing content to share our value proposition.. Scope client needs into level-of-effort requirements to identify SKUs, timelines, and pricing for clients.. Engage prospects to uncover business and technical pain points and translate them into solution requirements.. Recommend and position the most appropriate cybersecurity consulting services (e.g., risk assessments, penetration testing, compliance, managed security) that align with identified client needs.. Simplify complex technical concepts into clear, business-relevant language that is accessible to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.. Contribute to RFPs, proposals, and SOWs by providing technical input and scoping assistance.. Stay current on cybersecurity threats, trends, and technologies to inform customer discussions and internal enablement.. Partner with delivery teams to ensure a smooth transition from pre-sales to service execution.. Support onboarding and training for new partners, and provide enablement for both AEs and partners so they’re set up for success.. Qualifications. 5-8 years of experience in technical pre-sales, sales engineering, solutions consulting, or related role (cybersecurity preferred).. Familiarity with cybersecurity services, including application penetration testing, network penetration testing, etc.. Broad knowledge of cybersecurity principles, tools, and frameworks (e.g., network/application security, cloud security, vulnerability management, compliance, security operations, managed security services).. Strong discovery and consultative skills—able to ask the right questions and align solutions to client challenges.. Excellent communication and presentation abilities, with the skill to adapt messaging to both executives and technical teams.. Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented sales environment.. Relevant certifications (e.g., CISSP, CISM, CompTIA Security+, CEH) are a plus, but not required.. Application Instructions: . The anticipated salary range for this position is . $150,000 to $186,000 per year. . Actual compensation will be based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to the candidate’s qualifications, experience, skills, and location.
