You’ll build and maintain secure, high-traffic backend services that support critical Veteran-facing features. Your work will focus on modernizing legacy components, developing and refining REST APIs, supporting identity and access workflows, and integrating with multiple VA enterprise systems in a large-scale environment. You’ll contribute to containerized deployments, troubleshoot complex backend issues, and collaborate closely with engineering, product, and operations partners to deliver stable, maintainable, and scalable backend functionality.. What you’ll bring:. 6+ years of backend engineering experience with . Java. and . Spring Boot/Spring MVC. Experience developing and consuming . RESTful APIs. Familiarity with . SQL databases. (Oracle preferred) and ORM frameworks such as . Hibernate/JPA. Exposure to . microservices. concepts and distributed systems. Experience with . Docker. , . Kubernetes. , or similar containerization platforms. Understanding of . CI/CD pipelines. and modern DevOps practices.
