Financial Accountant at Xapo Bank. Location Information: Anywhere. Position overview. Xapo Bank is seeking a mid-level Accountant to support our global financial operations. Working within a fully distributed team of 6 in the Finance department, you will report directly to the Financial Controller. You will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy of financial data, supporting the month-end close process, and assisting with regulatory and audit requirements in a pioneering crypto-banking environment. While direct experience in crypto accounting is a significant advantage, it is not a dealbreaker for the right candidate with strong foundational skills.. Responsibilities. Month-End Reporting: Own the preparation of lead schedules and reconciliations for key balance sheet accounts.. Journal Management: Prepare and post journals ranging from standard accruals to complex financial asset adjustments.. Daily Financial Operations: Manage the end-to-end lifecycle of corporate expenses and payables.. Intercompany & Multi-Entity Oversight: Reconcile intercompany transactions across various global entities.. Regulatory & Compliance Support: Collate data and prepare periodic returns for financial regulators, specifically focusing on Gibraltar (GFSC) and UK requirements.. Tax & Statutory Compliance Support: Prepare data for statutory tax requirements.. Audit Support: Act as a key point of contact during internal and external audits.. Balance Sheet Integrity: Perform regular reviews of intercompany accounts and equity movements.. Skills needed. Professional Qualification (Mandatory): You must hold a recognized professional accounting qualification such as ACCA, ACA, CIMA, or CPA. . Experience: 3–5 years in a corporate accounting or audit role. Experience within Fintech or a regulated financial institution is a significant plus. . Regulatory Reporting Experience (Mandatory): Direct experience in the preparation and submission of financial regulatory returns (such as Liquidity or Capital Adequacy). Familiarity with GFSC and UK regulatory frameworks is required. . Accounting Standards: Solid understanding of IFRS. . Technical Stack: Proficient in NetSuite and advanced Excel. You will also regularly use Google Suite, Confluence, Ansarada, Miro, and other specialized financial tools..
