Accounting Manager at Apollo.io. Location Information: USA. Accounting Manager. About the Role. We are looking to add an Accounting Manager to our growing accounting team. In this role, you will play a critical part in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of our financial operations across multiple key areas, including international consolidation, internally developed software, variable compensation and payroll related accounting, prepaid expenses, and other operating expenses.. This role demands a high degree of ownership and the ability to work independently while collaborating cross-functionally to support business objectives and improve processes. You will be responsible for month-end close activities, financial analysis, and the development of accounting policies (e.g., capitalized commissions under ASC 340-40), while contributing to the continuous evolution of our accounting function.. This is an individual contributor position that will work closely with the broader finance and accounting team in a remote-first environment. We're looking for a proactive and detail-oriented professional eager to grow and drive impact.. What You’ll Do. Lead and execute month-end close activities, including:. Preparation and review of journal entries and account reconciliations across key balance sheet and P&L areas. International consolidation support, including review of local books, topside entries, and foreign currency impacts. Preparation of monthly flux/variance analysis and follow-up on unexpected movements. Own the accounting for variable compensation plans, including the assessment and capitalization of commissions in accordance with ASC 340-40, preparation of capitalization entries, and ongoing amortization and rollforwards. Oversee prepaid and other deferral accounting including review of contracts and invoices to determine appropriate capitalization vs. expense treatment. Support accounting for internally developed software, including partnering with Engineering to identify and track qualifying projects and costs, perform capitalization assessments, and maintain related schedules and amortization.. Partner with FP&A, Revenue Operations, Payroll, People, and other business stakeholders to ensure accurate financial reporting.. Perform variance analysis, investigate discrepancies, and deliver insights that support decision-making.. Prepare audit-ready documentation and act as a key point of contact for external auditors (Big 4).. Identify opportunities to use AI, automation, and tooling to streamline close and control processes. Drive ad hoc projects, system enhancements, and process transformation initiatives in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.. What We’re Looking For. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field; CPA or progress toward CPA strongly preferred.. 4–6 years of progressive accounting experience, ideally in SaaS, technology, or a high-growth company.. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with high attention to accuracy and detail.. Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (e.g., pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, and financial modeling).. Proven ability to work independently, prioritize effectively, and adapt to evolving business needs.. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to influence across functions and levels.. Self-motivated, results-driven, and excited to contribute to a collaborative and growth-oriented team.. Experience with NetSuite is preferred; familiarity with systems like Zip is a plus.. Big 4/Public Accounting experience is a plus.. The listed Pay Range reflects the total cash compensation inclusive of annual base salary and annual bonus as applicable. For sales roles, the range provided is the role’s On Target Earnings ("OTE") range, meaning that the range includes both the sales commissions/sales bonus target and annual base salary for the role. This salary range may be inclusive of several career levels at Apollo and will be narrowed during the interview process based on a number of factors, including the candidate’s experience, qualifications, and location.
