Cytogenetic Analyst at labcorp. Location Information: USA. Labcorp is seeking a . remote Cytogenetics Analyst.  to join our team that’s based in Brentwood, TN.. Work Schedule:  Tuesday – Saturday, 8:00 am – 4:30 pm. Responsibilities:. Perform FISH analysis, which includes analysis and imaging of digitized images. Cytogenetic analysis of metaphase spreads via computerized images. Review of cytogenetic cases via computerized images and documents. Review test requisitions to gather pertinent details for analysis. Summarize test results utilizing ISCN nomenclature. Distinguish between normal and abnormal test results. Monitor, operate and troubleshoot equipment, software and applications to ensure proper functionality.. Demonstrate the ability to make technical decisions regarding testing and problem solving.. Report accurate and timely test results in order to deliver quality patient care.. Reports any and all problems to the general supervisor in a timely manner. Collaborates with general supervisor on protocol/policy development and review. Provides feedback to senior technologists on technical matters. Understands and complies with company policies and procedures. Maintain a safe work environment.. Minimum Qualifications. Bachelor’s degree in a Chemical or Biological science, Clinical Laboratory Science or Medical Technology. ASCP certification in Cytogenetics (ASCP CG). 1 year experience in FISH and Chromosomes for Oncology Cytogenetics. Preferred Qualifications. 2 years or more experience with cytogenetic analysis of metaphase spreads via computerized images. Additional Job Standards. In lieu of education requirements listed above, non-traditional degrees with applicable science credits that meet CLIA standards may meet education requirements. Ability to work independently and within a team environment. Proficient with computers; Familiarity with laboratory information systems is a plus. High level of attention to detail along with strong communication and organizational skills. Must be able to pass a standardized color vision screen. Flexibility to work overtime or other shifts depending on business needs. This role focuses on . onscreen FISH analysis. with . occasional chromosome work. , using digital platforms such as .
