The Payroll Associate ensures timely and accurate payroll processing and assists with payroll-related reporting and compliance.. . Key Responsibilities. . . Process semi-monthly payroll for U.S. (multi-state), Canada, and international employees,  ensuring compliance with country, federal, and state regulations.. . Review and verify timesheets, earnings, and deductions.. . Respond to and support employees on payroll inquiries, providing clear explanations and resolving issues promptly.. . . . Collaborate with the HR department to process new hires, terminations, and compensation adjustments.. . Maintain payroll records and ensure data accuracy.. . . . Prepare payroll reconciliations for benefits.. . Ensure compliance with federal and state payroll regulations.. . Assist with special payroll projects, including year-end reporting, system upgrades, and process improvements.. . Prepare month-end reconciliations of payroll-related general ledger accounts in our accounting system to the payroll system.. . Identify and explain variances in payroll accounts month to month & quarter to quarter . . Responsible for keeping payroll policies and flowcharts current . . Generate and analyze payroll reports to support finance, tax filings, and compliance audits.. . Lead in year-end payroll activities, including the preparation and distribution of W-2s or other tax forms as well as year-end reconciliations.. . . Required Qualifications. . . Associate’s degree or 2+ years of payroll experience.. . Working knowledge of payroll laws and regulations.. . . Preferred Qualifications. . . Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field.. . Experience with payroll systems such as UKG.. . Experience processing multi-state, Canadian, or international payroll is a plus. . . . Skills and Competencies. . . Analytical and problem-solving skills.. . In-depth understanding of payroll processes.. . Ability to process accurate data while meeting deadlines.. . Ability to handle confidential information.. . Ability to communicate effectively with employees, HR, Finance, and external agencies. . . Strong Excel skills.. . .
