The Managing Director leads the delivery of countrywide Risk Control Services to improve underwriting results through risk improvement, risk retention strategies, and underwriting risk assessment. Identifies, develops, and executes high-level Risk Control strategies, services, and programs with an emphasis on influencing major areas of risk by industry and strengthening Liberty Mutual’s market position.. Accountable for building a high-performance culture, continuous process improvement, service management, workforce management, and measurable impact for large or highly complex customers. Serves as a strategic partner to underwriting and other key business leaders, ensuring Risk Control is aligned to business priorities, service expectations, and enterprise growth objectives. Leads teams to operate as business influencers who can shape decisions, build trust, communicate value, and influence outcomes across internal and external stakeholders.. Brings demonstrated experience using data to articulate TCOR reduction and ROI, applying process and technology improvements to increase value delivery to clients, and rapidly translating new tools, data, and concepts into practical service solutions. Maintains working knowledge of the insuretech landscape, consults effectively with clients in a rapidly evolving technology environment, and coach’s teams on project management, consultative selling, and the delivery of strategic, client-focused solutions.. Leads the transformation of the Risk Control organization into a strategic business influencer. , building a team capable of shaping decisions, strengthening trust, and driving outcomes with underwriting, customers, and key business partners.. Translates enterprise strategy into a future-state service vision and operating model.  that elevates Risk Control from a technical service function to a value-creating business partner.. Develops teams to communicate business value in strategic terms. , including TCOR reduction, ROI, risk impact, and customer outcomes, so they can influence decisions and support profitable growth.. Drives adoption of data, process improvement, and technology enablement.  to expand the team’s consultative toolkit and increase the value delivered to clients in a rapidly evolving insuretech landscape.. Builds strong partnerships with key and critical business segment leaders.  to align Risk Control with enterprise priorities, strengthen collaboration, and create shared business outcomes.. Coaches leaders and consultants in consultative selling, project management, and executive presence. , enabling them to lead client conversations and influence internal and external stakeholders more effectively.. Creates a talent strategy focused on future capability. , including developing successors, building diverse talent pipelines, and strengthening the technical and consultative depth needed for the future of the organization.. Knowledge of process improvement techniques, finance concepts, commercial property & casualty insurance; and insurance operations. Ability to: plan, organize and get work done through others the right way; manage and improve processes; work cross-functionally and build relationships; analyze and solve problems; influence others; communicate effectively (listening, verbal, written, presentations, etc and project confidence; as normally acquired through a bachelor's degree or equivalent training, 10 or more years of relevant experience, some which should be in a management capacity. Advanced Degree and/or Professional Designation (MS/MBA, ARM or CPCU) preferred. About Us. Pay Philosophy:.
