Khan Academy Kids. is a free and fun learning program for children ages two to eight. Kodi Bear and a cast of animated characters lead children on a personalized education journey filled with fun, standards-aligned activities in early literacy, math, executive functioning and social emotional skills. Senior. . Product Designer. who is driven, tech savvy, and enthusiastic about making an impact on young children and their families. . This is a contract role of 40 hours/week for 12 months at $80/hr.. Depending on business need, there is potential for this role to convert to a full-time position down the line.. . In this role, you will: . Contribute to various stages of design projects from conceptualization through implementation and create production-ready artwork. Translate insights from user research into wireframes, interactive prototypes, and high-fidelity visual designs for mobile and web products. Float between crafting visuals and joyful user experiences for young children, parents, and teachers audiences. Participate in the creation and maintenance of shared design patterns and systems . Collaborate with product managers, designers, artists, animators, and developers to shape and refine product features. WHAT YOU BRING. 6+ years of relevant experience on an in-house product design teamProficiency in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and Figma. Proficiency in interaction design, prototyping, and information architecture, with outstanding visual design and UI/UX chops. Experience designing mobile and web consumer products at scale.. Strong preference for prior experience designing for e-learning/edtech products, specifically reports for educators, schools and district administrators.. Experience driving your own design process, starting with problem definition and ending with delivering solutions. Adaptability and the ability to balance multiple design projects at various stages in a changing environment. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for technical and non-technical collaborators. Bonus points for prior experience conducting user research (focus groups, interviews, usability testing, etc.). Bonus points for web development skills: HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. Bonus points for illustration, animation, and/or video production skills.
